Overview
TSA workers are often referred to as Transportation Security Officers (TSOs). The TSA employs hundreds of thousands of individuals nationwide. Prior to the establishment of the TSA, airport security was largely managed by private contractors. These workers are responsible for implementing security protocols and responding to potential threats.
