Overview
The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) is the highest federal court in the U.S., established by the Constitution. It has ultimate appellate jurisdiction over all federal court cases and state court cases involving federal law, and also holds original jurisdiction in a limited set of cases. Its decisions are binding on all lower courts and are final.
