Nagato Province, also known as Chōshū, was a province of Japan. It bordered on Iwami and Suō Provinces and was part of the Sat-Chō alliance. The province was governed by the Mōri clan and its economy was primarily based on agriculture. The province was home to several important cultural and historical sites, including Hagi and Yamaguchi.
