James Wright Foley was an American journalist and video reporter. He attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he studied history and journalism. Before becoming a journalist, Foley worked as an instructor for Teach For America in Phoenix, Arizona. He later became an embedded journalist with the Indiana National Guard in Iraq. Foley reported for various publications, including GlobalPost and Stars and Stripes, and was known for his courageous and insightful reporting from conflict zones.
