Camille Claudel was a French sculptor. She was the eldest of three children, and her family moved to Nogent-sur-Seine when she was a teenager. Claudel began her artistic training at a young age, studying sculpture with Alfred Boucher. She exhibited her work at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne.
