Pablo Casals was a renowned Catalan cellist, composer, and conductor. He studied at the Municipal Conservatory of Music of Barcelona and later at the Madrid Royal Conservatory. Casals premiered many of his own works and lived in Prades, France, and later in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. He had no children. He was recognized with numerous awards and honors.
